Weekly roundup

Hey Gearheads! Here’s what’s happening this week

With the weather giving us our first false spring, it’s time for us to start thinking about what we are hoping for in 2026. Weather it’s starting the restoration project that has been put off, or just finally adding that Stage 2 tune now is the time to start thinking about those plans.

We'd love to feature a local build in every edition of the newsletter! If you're working on a project or have recently finished one, get in touch so we can share it with the community and spark some inspiration for fellow enthusiasts!

Reach out to me at [email protected] and I would love to highlight your ride.

Recent Event Recap

Monster Jam

While the roads may be covered in snow, Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse is covered in dirt for the annual Monster Jam Event.

From fan favorites like Grave Digger and El Toro Loco to new challengers like Plane Crazy, these trucks tore up the arena floor in high-flying, tire-flipping action. It's a high-octane experience the whole family can enjoy, with plenty of close-up moments to see these massive machines in action with the optional pit-pass.

I personally got the chance to see the trucks close up and meet some of the drivers during the Saturday Show, which included a nice display of some of the greatest FMX riders performing their signature tricks.

Here are a few videos of the action!

If you weren’t able to see the high flying, full throttle action this weekend, Monster Jam will be returning to Cleveland at Huntington Bank Field on May 2nd. With a bigger outdoor arena, I expect an action packed event, with even more carnage. Grab your tickets now!

Meet the Author

Born and raised as a gear-head into a muscle car family. I have always had the gasoline running through my veins. Starting young on 4-wheelers and snowmobiles. I had my first car bought at 14. A 1970 Chevy C10 with a SBM that had more rust than metal. I Immediately made the mistake of tearing it apart, without the knowledge of how to put it back together… Well 20 years later, I still don’t have it back together, as life always seem to be too busy to put the time into it, that it needs. But hey, maybe this year is the year! I spent most of teens and twenties into the Jeep scene, as my family grew, my passion has grown to anything on wheels.

In future newsletters, I want to spotlight another member or business.

Winter Tips
  1. Rev Up for Winter: Must-Know Tips to Dominate Snow & Ice

Cleveland winters are tough, but with the right prep, you can keep your ride running smooth. Here’s what you need to know to stay safe on icy, snowy streets:

    1. Winter Tires are a Must
Swap those summer & all season tires for winter tires for better grip on those slippery streets. If you're sticking with all-seasons, check that tread depth and keep 'em properly inflated.

    2. Test Your Battery
Cold temps drain batteries fast. Get yours tested, especially if it's over 3 years old. Keep the terminals clean and free of corrosion. A simple jump box can be had for around $50 and can be a lifesaver, plus help out others that you may come across.

    3. Use the Right Oil
Cold weather thickens oil, so use a thinner viscosity like 5W-30 for easier starts and smoother engine performance.

    4. Clear Snow and Ice
Before hitting the streets, clear all snow off your ride — windows, mirrors, headlights, and tail lights. Visibility is critical, and the cops are watching!

    5. Check Your Brakes
Slippery roads make brakes more important than ever. Have your pads and rotors checked If you don’t have a garage, many shops will offer free inspections.

    6. Pack an Emergency Kit
Jumper cables, a flashlight, a blanket, and some kitty litter for traction — you never know when you might get stranded and need them.

    7. Wash Off the Salt
Salt can eat away at your ride, so give it a good wash to keep it looking fresh and protect the undercarriage. Don’t skip the wheels and door seams to keep that rust from starting!

With these tips, you’ll be ready to handle Cleveland’s winter roads like a pro. Stay safe and keep those wheels turning!
